The Tiny ties to the other shining series'

Post by OllieB »

SORRY IF SOMEBODY ALREADY POSTED THIS!
I've noticed that shining soul and shining force are definitely different. One thing I DO know is that shining soul takes place BEFORE Shining force I. (but you already knew that) I know this because in SF1: ressurection of DD, When you talk to Elliot, he tells you he is the LAST dragonute. In SS, a dragonute is a playable species! One other thing that confuses me is that althought elliot says he's the last dragonute, they appear as enemies in SF2. Perhaps he reproduced or something. Of course other sf characters make appearances. Any thoughts? :)

The Tiny ties to the other shining series'

You can't put RotDD in the actual Shining Force timeline. It's a remake and since they modified some parts of the original LoGI storyline, it won't make anymore sense when compared to older SF games.

It is the same story line, though pieces of the plot were changed for some unfathomable reason.

Either he meant he was the last in Rune or he THOUGHT he was the last.

Indeed it's the case. Hence the fact that I said some parts of RotDD don't fit with the real Shining storyline.

It depends on who you ask...

Sega says that Shining Soul is part of the Shining series. Sega has also screwed over the Shining series recently.

Camelot, those awesome people who didn't screw over Shining, says that Shining Soul has nothing to do with the original Shining series other than some cameos. In fact, they say that the stalker series is more related to the Shining series than Soul.

Don't believe me?

It's completely awesome that this site has enough pull to get interviews like that.

Actually, they said that the Stalker series has nothing to do with the original Shining series, no matter what Climax says. You must have been reading an interview with someone from Climax and got the two confused.

What do you mean? There weren't any other active threads on the Shining Soul board when this was bumped. If you have another thread on this board that you want bumped, just say so.

The Western Translation has mildly differing names...

ビーストマウンテン Beast Mountain
迷宮デスシャドウ Labyrinth Death Shadow
イゴール洞窟 Igol cave
異次元の森 Forest of different dimension
グレイブル神殿 Grable Temple
デオル水路 Deol Waterway
ダークタワー Dark Tower
ダークキャッスル Dark Castle
謎のダンジョン Dungeon of mystery

Igol Cave ( ...or Caverns more likely ) making more sense than Egual Dungeon :D
