Shining The Holy Ark Music

Yes, they are not MP3s. They're Ogg Vorbis files. They play in Winamp just fine. Why do I not use MP3s? Simple... I have music CDs where the sound doesn't end on one track and continues on to another, and MP3 doesn't support gapless track transition. Ogg Vorbis does. Heh...

I recorded these almost seven years ago. I happened to have the master CD lying around that I did these recordings on. Unbelievable that it's been this long.

Edit: The files are now MP3s, as LAME 3.97 supports gapless track transition, so I'm back to using the MP3 format, now and forever.

Thank you very much, Parn !
I've completed my Shining Music Collection thanks to you.
Well, maybe not, I still lack Shining Wisdom tracks from the gamee. Though I've heard the musics aren't that great... I'll search for them anyway. :)

You should LO. Most of SW music is great with only a couple of exceptions. Anyway this looks pretty cool. Maybe I'll try it out myself.

.ogg is not a problem. If we want them in .mp3 format, we can just use a converter (I already have). Thanks a ton! :)

Thanks for putting up the songs.

I listened to some and I think it will take me a while to get used to them. For me, there could be a song I'll dislike at first, but with repeated listenings, I like it more.

Some of the tracks sound like a Carousel at a county fair, though.

Considering the matching titles, I believe I still have all of those from in MP3 from finding them a few years back (forget where, though)...

Nice to see them up for download, though. :) Shame it's a bit hard to get the intros for the battle themes...

Did you ever notice that the music playing in the Tower of Illusion has exactly the same chords of the music playing in the labyrinth of Shining in the Darkness ?
It's like a kind of improved "remake".

I think everyone who's played both games has noticed that. :)

See Cullsoft ? I knew not everyone was aware of this. :)

Rick, listen to the labyrinth music of Shining in the Darksness, and right after to the Tower of Illusion's track. You'll notice they have the same "pattern" if you're careful. ;)

Although synbios.net is no longer online, The Internet Archive has a copy of this soundtrack:

https://web.archive.org/web/20071028054 ... index.html

However, some of the tracks weren't archived correctly. These tracks are

- 03. Battle Theme
- 04. Desire Village
- 11. The Mountain Cave
- 14. West Shrine
- 16. Tower of Illusion

Does anyone have a copy of the missing tracks? It would be great to achieve the soundtrack somewhere besides online besides The Internet Archive too. As fans of the game will know, the original soundtrack is actually a re-arranged version; there was no official CD of the original Saturn tracks.

I have a 49-Track Game Rip. Not sure where I got it, originally.

Can I just post a link to my Mega here? It's not like the game ever had a real soundtrack to sell.

Edit: Now that I look at the beginning of the thread, it appears that the entire point of this topic was to share the soundtrack. I'm going to assume that means this is okay:

Does anyone have the sounds for the menu navigation and selecting an option?
Also the sound effects for spells and attacks?
(Well, it works if it is for SF3 too)
