Meh... he made another completely pointless post. If he hasnt played the game what's the point in saying that?

Ah well point taken.

This game is trash, even when not compared to the Shining Force games.

Slow paced, not too good of a story, even moving your character around was a pain in the butt. It just wasn't well done, and for a Zelda wannabe, it didn't even come close to mimicing that what it was trying to be.

I don't recommend this game to anyone, and it's best left to rot with the likes of Shining Soul.

There's a reason why this part of the board never has anyone posting in it.

I don't think it needs to be called trash really. It is just another puzzle game. It isn't really that horrible.

I just finished this the other day after months of on/off playing. When i first played it I didn't think to much, but i gave it a second chance, and loved it. It is very original, the items and puzzles are very creative, and the puzzles only get better as you progress. Also is packed with secrets, which is awesome for replay. I finished with 88% so i still got some work to do!

I loved the game i thought it was great! it quenched my thirst for another shining game even though it wasn't the same as the 2d games it was still good, one of my favorite parts of the game was using the car to get around.

The Game is not bad, the problem I had with it though is that it did not read offer anything that has not done before.

Here's our first poser, who's too attached to the force style.
At least SW actually HAS a story, unlike SF:LotGI
My guess is that you're too attached to the crap graphics, and boring music of the first force title, to like this.

SF did have a story. Just not alot of character development. And SW is pretty traditional for a storyline.

I liked it. Bangar makes it worth it and some of the items are very good, my only problem is that it can take you forever to figure out where to go in the first part of the game, and then the mazes actually get easier.

Even though this is not as good as the other SF titles, but I will alwayshave a soft spot for this game.

This was the first shining title I ever played and made me pick a saturn over a Playsation. Aside from The story of Thor, this was also the first RPG I played and it got me into the genre.

This led me to but STHA and SFIII, which are two of my all time favourite games.

also IT IS BETTER THEN ZELDA!!!!!! :)

1.) Redhawk, stop trying to act like you're a mod...if someone does something against the rules, they'll be dealt with.

2.) Ivanhoe, if you'd just read TED's post, he said clearly that he was basing his opinion on the game as a stand alone rather than as a member of the Shining Series, so your post holds no relevance (and, if you've known Clay for the nearly three years that I've known him...online that is, you'll know that he's not jsut some Force Style Fanboy, and tells his opinion without sugarcoating it :p)

As for my own opinion, I'll say I just couldn't get into it...I mean, the beginning of games are supposed to give you a BIT of an idea about the gameplay (even in SF1 and 2, it gives you a couple of turns in the first battle to give you an idea of the battle system). Shining Wisdom just didn't do that for me, and in turn really didn't allow me to get into the game at all...

I admit that the control system wasn't very clear at first, but I kind of enjoyed figuring it out.

The control system wasn't too bad to get used to, and the gameplay was (in my opinion) quite fun if you actually sat down and gave it a chance. One thing I will say about Shining Wisdom that Zelda NEVER did was allow you to use the life upgrades as soon as you got them. In Zelda (except when beating a boss), one would have to search the land looking for that one last heart piece to complete the container...and that could get quite annoying.

I thought Shining Wisdom was too short, personally. Admittedly, it was quite different from the Force-style games and the dungeon-crawlers of the series (SitD and StHA), but it was nice to see some of the traditional Shining artifacts, like the Angel Wing. Also, it tended to have a very Shining feel about it...I can't quite place it.

At any rate, I certainly think Shining Wisdom is on the bottom rung as far as Shining games are concerned, and I mostly own it to complete the collection. However, as a game of its own, it was a good Zelda clone...with the feel of a Shining game. I will still play it over again, like the rest of the series, in quite a few years.

Never played it, though I was thinking about picking it up on eBay to get closer to finishing my Saturn RPG collection.

Is it better than Shining Soul II? I wasn't that enthused about SSII, but I'm starting to get a little tired of the 2D Zelda derivation. The last one I played through to completion (other than Link to the Past on GBA) was Legend of Oasis.
