"Pick Randolf/Eric"
Ooooh nooo, get another Warrior who are allways good or the best Knight in the game.
Such a challenge :p

But for realsies:
I vote pro 'Super' and pro 'No Repair'
Feel free to pile on anything else of your liking.
I wanna deck Zalbard in the snozz, unless Stor objects.
In which case, I'll take Taros instead.

Oh nice, I'll add the repair challenge to the pool. But seriously, we always take Tyrin or Karna so Randolf or Eric might suck :shifty: I will add "No Creed's" though ;)

I have no objections, as I simply don't have time to partake in this one.

BUT I HAVE A GOOD IDEA! HOW ABOUT WE PLAY NO REVIVES AND NO WEAPONS?!?!?!? WON'T THAT BE FUN?!?!?!

Perma death and skip characters would be a deadly combo. Should they exclude each other?

I would change the "No healing items" to "No in-combat use command". In-combat because banning it outside would make the game unbeatable, yes? :excited:

I'm sure I'll regret this... but I'll pick Chess. Bring it!

Stor - Maybe next time. For both points.

Simp - They may exclude each other, especially if we land on Super as well. I'll have to weigh it, if it happens though. I think I'll add "using" weapons and accessories as a separate option.

Also, I'm taking the Secret Final Battle so it actually gets done on time *coughDrakoniscough* ;)

Waiting to hear from zexxar, Antman, and ehow or anyone else that stumbles in here. Not sure if ehow checks into SFC anymore though so we'll see.

I'm naturally in. And Stor already mentioned the best challenge

I take Cameela again and I think we should definitely use 'Super' and 'No Healing Items' and 'only one of each class' + 2-5 others which I can't decide on right now. :D

Okay guys, I did some randomization and came up with a few combos to pick from. A few had some of the picks negated so a couple will be shorter. I'll post them in order of what I consider the most difficult. We'll have a vote for fun ;)

I'm going to spoiler each option. Included will be the challenges added and the cast selection at the end of the game.

Option #1
WARNING: SPOILER!

Option #2
WARNING: SPOILER!

Option #3
WARNING: SPOILER!

Option #4
WARNING: SPOILER!

Option #5
WARNING: SPOILER!

Option #6
WARNING: SPOILER!

Some of these combinations are a real bitch. I hadn't initially intended on using some of the challenges in the way that I did (eliminating characters that join promoted based on their class being "special" or not), but this is more fun! I do believe I have all of the skippable characters taken out / left in correctly but if someone sees an error, let me know.

So go ahead and cast a vote for what you'd like and maybe we can get it down to half or less of these options. I'll say it right now though, we don't stand a chance with Option #1 unless we all cheat a lot

I'd like to join in as well :)
If there are no objections, I hereby claim battle #35.

Also, if you're interested in more crazy suggestions for modifiers:

When casting a spell, it always has to be the maximum level available.

(Back when I was a kid I actually thought this was obligatory. I did not realize that it is possible to select the desired spell level until like the middle of the game... I remember being surprised how useless all the casters seemed to be. I guess I was not the sharpest knife in the drawer.)

You know, I did the same thing as a kid but I believe it wasn't until my second play-through that I figured it out. For some reason I still used Sarah MMNK though and Taya with a Freeze Staff  Glad to have a fresh face for the Team Game!

Hah, I'm glad I wasn't the only one :)
I feel we should comfort ourselves with the thought that back in the olden days most games weren't as complex as SF2, so it was an understandable oversight :)

Interesting "challenge packs" you have created, thanks for your efforts. (I saw your post right after I wrote mine.) I'm curious what we'll end up with - and whether I'll regret picking a late battle considering the looming permadeath.

I did all of this via a random number generator and ranking in excel and it spit out a good range, actually. There was a lot of being stuck with Luke and Skreech though, which is unfortunate. Is there an option or two that you'd like to vote for? I guess we'll limit it to two per person and go from there :)

I'd like menu #2, por favor.
All the others don't sit right with me because of heavy promo limitations
If I wanted that, I'd play classic FE.
HEEEYOOOOO!

Seconded, #2 sounds good!
Confession time: I actually like the birdmen and usually end up having one in my final party, so I feel totally prepared already

I'm for option 3 or 6, pref 3. Permanent death sounds like loads of fun to play around with, but I want master monks, dangit! :damnit:
As for a battle, hmmmz. Galam castle is fun. I'll take that.

I'll let zexxar and Simp respond and give ehow another day. He hasn't posted in a long time though so I won't wait for him.

5 or 6 for me.
5's "no repairing" and "no using items" is a bit silly though. I'd replace no repairing with cursed items forced. We don't get mithril weapons anyway, might as well lol

I also prefer 3 or 4.

Idon't like 1 or 2 because although we get the cursed items pretty late in the game there is nothing more annoying that those weapons screwing up your tactic.

Well we're all nice and divided  Half did pick #3 though so if there are no objections, we'll go with that. We still have a bit of time to discuss though and can get the game started. I've randomized the rest of the battles after having each of us with a battle in the first 6 and last 6 of the game. This was completely randomized otherwise so there might be some large gaps between battles though mine are probably the largest. Incidentally, everyone but Antman will have a back-to-back battle at some point.

As always, feel free to trade battles with someone. For example, if anyone wants Kraken, let me know :shifty:

greyskies - Feel free to name Bowie how you see fit. I'm not sure how familiar you are with Team games but simply create a savestate as you finish the battle you've been tasked with. You are responsible for getting items and members (in accordance with the challenge) before your battle starts. Please use Gens+ and make sure savestates are not compressed. A short report after each battle detailing if anyone died and if any item is damaged is all we need. If you have any other questions, let me know.

If we stick with #3, everyone remember to skip Kiwi, May, Rick, Taya, Skreech, Jaro, Sheela, Zynk, Claude, and Chaz. Some of those are a bit complicated to skip so if we accidentally recruit them, kill them off or shove them in the caravan. We should definitely take Eric from Creed's too since Jaha actually is better or equal to Randolf as a Baron and because Chester is a terrible PGNT. No point in giving Janet the Silver Tank either :shifty:

Let me sum up
No Repairing
Permadeath
heavily limited promotion
stupid character recruitment rules

This IS classic FE, isn't it?
Better put my tactician pants on and carry this through.
