I always pronounced it 'Geshp' as it phonetically looks as well. it still gives me less trouble saying it than 'Arrawnt'...

Yep, phonetically here, too.

What's so hard with Arrawnt? I've always pronounced it Ah-ront, like warrant.

Same here, though I find I add a tiny inflection before the P - i.e. Guess'p

Pretty much the same here - given the name is derived from "arrogant", I find myself pronouncing it the same way but with the G dropped. Though I'll admit it's one that looks odd at first.

His name is probably derived from "Gespenst", which is German for "ghost".

In Dutch, "gesp" means to buckle.

Well, that explains why he dies like a bitch, unlike the other Greater Devils who at least go down with an ounce of dignity.

I would've probably went with "Arawn" for "Arrawnt/Arrogant", and "Dominus" for "Domaric/Dominate", if I were the localiser, Jareth Hein, back then.

The Japanese can get away with English words as names for the characters because our language sounds exotic to them.

I'd love to know the actual reasoning behind the decision of naming the devil "Geshupuu", but only someone fluent in Japanese can assist with that.

And even then, somebody fluent in the language may be unable to explain. For all we know, it could've been a choice made for a personal reason by the individual responsible, rather than anything that could be simply explained with knowledge of the language. Like maybe it reminded them of somebody they knew as a child who shared traits with Geshp, thus earning the character the name.
