[hex editing] Question on item drops

I am currently looking into item dropping and could use some help from someone who is better versed in hex editing than myself.

The issue at hand is as follows: as far as I could gather from this thread, there's this item drop table in the code.

Question 1: Is it possible to add to the table or would I have to replace the current drops?

Question 2 (the important one): What would I have to put in the item flag # so an item always drops when the respective enemy is killed, i.e. no matter how often the player uses egress or dies, the enemy will still leave behind the item?


I found out that there is a patch by BNC - viewtopic.php?f=5&t=25833&p=692149&hilit=item+drop#p692149 - which does exactly what I need, so this topic may be closed, deleted or simply ignored.
