Here's the place to discuss the "Resurrection of the Dark Dragon" game for GBA. Note that the original Shining Force has a seperate forum.

Im about halfway done making the spreadsheet and its really slowed down my 7th run.
Im showing the following for each character with no save/load abuse:
Lvl 10 stats
Lvl 1 early promo stats
Lvl 10 early promo stats
Lvl 20 early promo stats

Lvl 20 stats (loaded from the same file as early promo)
Lvl 1 late promo stats
Lvl 10 late promo stats
Lvl 20 promo stats

I understand that it is simply a single sample, but its better than nothing.
Is it ok to upload a file onto here?

I put some time into my save file last couple days. Just beat the marionette and all set for the zombie chapel. Max has 40speed with the speed ring vs the zombies 38. With alll the early grinding drudgery over the rest of the game should be fun. Star 46 soon and we'll who knows from there.

Awesome! Glad you are back on track.

I finished up my study for a handful of characters. The stats are roughly the same, so I am discontinuing the study for now but maybe will finish it up later if there is interest. I strongly believe that each character has a target stat for each level regardless of when they are promoted. If they are behind, then they have a chance to increase that stat by more than 1 and sometimes by more than 5 if it is far behind. This explains whey characters that promoted after level 20 have a large number of slow level ups at first compared to lvl10 promotees.

I will impart defense and HP values for all characters after level 10 promotion to help everyone in future playthroughs. Defense is the most important stat. Missing Max and Mawlock for now, but figured you were going to use them anyways hahaha.

NAME HP DEF
Musashi 76 70 Also gains the highest attack with a Katana
Guntz 48 68
Adam 59 63 And 24% magic resist (Can be put to sleep. What?)
Bleu 67 61 Natural 75% Breath resistance
Luke 50 59
Hanzou 65 59 Also has 0% magic resist like most non-mages
Gort 53 54
Zuika 54 49 Likely to max out attack and have high defense if injured and buffed on top of that
Domingo 53 48 Also 50% magic resistance and 25% breathe resistance
Arthur 51 46 Also 27% magic resist
Zylo 53 42 Highest natural attack gains (62) Good candidate for Holy Ring along with Zuika

Musashi is not only the best Tank, but he has doomblade and is possibly the strongest attacker in the game without as much work as others to achieve 99 Atk and 99 Def. Also, Narsha got 70% magic resist, but with the abundance of the shield spell it doesn't matter.

Edit: Just finished star 8 and figured out a way to duplicate items. I am going to try to get more than one domingo, this time.

My charger for my laptop is broken so I haven't been able to finish star 46. Will buy a replacement when I get a chance.

How can you duplicate items? That is huge.

I'm still working out the kinks of the glitch, but basically at the start of each chapter, I can duplicate one or two items that are in the deals list. I'm trying to come up with the easiest way to do this as it involves RNGA which is a pain and not totally reliable yet. If I succeed, you should be able to make around a dozen defense potions and maybe an extra agility ring or so.

I finished star 9.

OK keep me posted on this. I will experiment on my game when I get my laptop up and running. Multiple speed rings would be really helpful for me. Unlimited defence potions would literally break the game. This is a huge development.

Edit if you can only do it once after every chapter, then probably not that useful for me as the only item worth duplicating from chapter 1 would be a defence potion. After chapter 2 I don't really need any help. Still this could be absolutely huge for your run. Duplicating gold/shield rings and def potions will really help in the 14-21star range where ramladu becomes really hard. Who would of thought I would still be learning new things about Rotdd.

I got star 10. Using the duplication glitch to get about 8 more defense potions than normal. I was able to get Max's defense to 89 without level abuse. I gave him a white ring, a gold ring and 2 shield rings. From now on, Ive decided to beat Ramladu with about 2 cards. One to make Max fly where only steel claws can hit him and the ghoul card to poison Ramladu. If Mawlock has more time he can use the max card with Lyle effect to give his supernova a range of 3.

Yes, but I want to save-kill the Master Mages, Demon Master, High Priest, Bustoke Silver Knight and Marionette

Star 50
Goblin
HP 132
ATK 23
DEF 36
AGI 30
MOV 30

Any tip to kill faster the Marionette?

Marionette has the best resistances in the game. Only character that the ghoul card wont work on. Is it also immune to supernova? I know Mishaela is. If not you could copy max and effect lyle(+3 range) for a ranged supernova.

As for the others... Use balbaroy effect and ghoul card for 100% chance to poison (even robots). Costs 40mp and will work on master mage/silver knight etc.

EDIT = Star 56, fear me Soul Eater, 3 more stars to go :shifty:

I wonder if the game will glitch out via excessive movement...?

Wow this is pretty cool. I was wondering if you any of you have save files from when the game is challenging but not completely impossible like at around 15 stars. I'm a big fan but don't have it in me to replay so many times
