Daemon tools

Postby verydopey » Sun May 21 2017 11:02am

Hi All,

I just wanted to give you a heads up, I followed all the instructions on your site and installed Daemon tools from the official website and its installed a load of adware on my computer. Some websites are saying malware and viruses have some from the installation too. It appears to only have happened in the last couple of years (I used to use it with no problems) but you may want to update your instructions.

Thanks!

When you say official website, do you mean the SF3 Translation site or the Daemon Tools website?

The latest versions of Daemon Tools do have an unacceptable amount of garbage that installs with them, but the one on the translation FTP should be okay. I'll double check at any rate.

Hey,
Actually I used the Daemon tools site, not the FTP. Maybe I didn't read the recommendation properly! Maybe worth warning people not to use their site!

I've had it for years but, if I recall, the full suite is a paid for program with lots of useful apps. But the virtual clone drive is avaliable for free.

EDIT
I just checked and this software is indeed free from Elby:

I'm going to check this out. It seems like a better solution so far.

Seems to work well. Certainly less hassle to install.

Is there any way to make it default to 'all files' or 'other images' when mounting? It's always a couple of extra clicks because it defaults to its own image type.

Also there doesn't seem to be a way to mount the cue file, but it doesn't appear to be a problem to mount the bin/iso.
