I am just helping out, not part of a group

And I was just seeing where my compressor could work, thats all. I really have no intention of touching these games. but instead make a more global compressor to be used for a lot of games

That is an excellent idea because I feel that there are lots of game's that we are missing out on, not only old school but the newer generation as well such as Phantasy Star Generations PS2 (was suppose to be released in the US however it apparently has been canceled), Dragon Force remake PS2 (again another game that had a US release but not any longer). I know right now you and others are working on Saturn games and PS1 games but in the distant future I think we may start to see those games translated as well.

And I apologize about getting off subject I didn't mean to drag the SF3 translation tread into a discussion about other game not even in the SF series.

So anyway at least you have something to look forward to come December, you can count on me in helping with the project and also Xuande as well so at least for about a month the project can gain a little bit of steam.

And just out of curiosity since I haven't had a chance to utilize your tools, if a full day were to be dedicated to working on translation by my myself or you or Aho, how much work could possibly be done? Because I have no issue dedicating my Saturdays to the translation starting in December but I was wondering how much that would tear though the script?

about 1 complete file per say, although when I release the new version soon It will have some features that will hopefully speed things up, if anyone has ideas, please inform me, to make things faster. If I realllllllly wanted to, I could make it set up to where you can strip right out of the text, but that is something I really dont think is a good idea

one good thing that i did was combine my decompressor with my translator, so now it should be a little easier to understand

Wow I've been gone for a bit and come back and this is really fascinating stuff. I wish I was more computer literate to make heads or tails out of what you've done but it's pretty nifty

Im almost done with the new version of the translator, all I need to do is create a kanji database, and translating should be a lot easier

New translator is out, now supports kanji with copy and paste

Only problem is, you need to find the unicode and store it into the database
Once I have completed the database, I will more then gladly upload it to make it easier. If anyone else would like to do so, I will make a program to compare databases and make them more complete

I believe what he meant was that people would see the last post date was Oct 26th, and thus not bother to look, as they had already seen it, since edits do not change the last post date, so they may not realise KOD has a new version of his translator.

because u are only putting in 1 character for it to save to the database, why would u want to use more then 1 character to map it to a single character?

Hi first of all let me congratulate you on all of your efforts so far.

I just saw this post yesterday and it seems you have been working on this for other a year. But when i saw it i could not believe it. This would be fantastic.

I actually do own a saturn and the games being translated but they are at home (im at university) i have the isos for the games and downloaded the patch and followed the instructions.. Does this game not work on saturn emulators? its gets to the 'Now Loading...' bit but then blacks out and doesnt return.

I got so excitied by this and was really disappointed when it didnt work.
i know the patch isnt finished yet but i wanted to see how far you've got.

So i guess the question I'd like answering is does this work on saturn emulators?

by saying unicode, you mean insert the kanji?
If I have to insert only the kanji in black and white with no translation, I can do it very quickly
