Computer chairs

Postby YsFanatic » Tue May 30 2017 4:05pm

So I'm looking into getting a new computer chair that would be better for my back and I am looking for your opinions on what to look at. I've heard good things about mesh back chairs and some 'gaming chairs', but are there any other options? Ideally I'd want something that would last for a while.

Are you limited in price? Make sure you look for lumbar support and maybe some heating/massaging if that helps your back too.

I'm willing to spend a few hundred if needed

Perfectly honest, I usually just go and nab a cheap chair from a second hand store. They typically have tons of them.

I heard most "gaming chairs" are horrid for your back

Really? I keep hearing the opposite. Granted I haven't had much of a chance to talk to anyone using one.

I have been using a Maxnomic gaming chair from need for seat for 2 years now and I love it.

I will admit the model I have seems to have a rather hard butt, at least harder than I was expecting.. but I can still sit in it for hours without issue.

It's not true that gaming chairs are bad for your back, at least my one isn't.. it has adjustable lumbar support built in and the back rest reclines all the way flat (you can literally lay flat on this chair without falling over, it feels so weird at first!) and the seat section also tilts backwards.

deffo recommend, on the pricey side though :)

Took a look at their US site, and it looks like only their larger chairs have adjustable lumbar support, which is annoying as they are likely too large to be comfortable for me.
