Keep the updates coming in. I'm hoping he's made comfortable while being treated. I was very lucky and had an individual room with about 4-5 others being treated in their own rooms on that floor. We had 2-3 really great nurses that took damn good care of us too. Phenergan made the process a whole lot easier since it always made me fall asleep right away for a few hours. I obviously had a different schedule for treatment and with different drugs, but I'm hoping he doesn't feel too crappy from it all. Don't be surprised if he doesn't remember some stuff because of "chemo brain" which really does happen. I remembered quite a bit but a lot of minor details are hazy.

I'm not sure how his hair is or if this treatment means he might lose it. The medical staff usually will know if he will fall out. But if it's going to, it's much easier to just shave it all off when it starts. It's a damn mess if you just let it go out, especially if his hair is long.

Keep up the good fight. I'll be praying for his recovery.

My mum had her hysterectomy yesterday - and my family and I hope it's a success. My mother, however, is waiting a week to find out if the cancer is completely gone. My sister worked in hospitals in her 20s, and she said it's good that she is having her test results this quick.

Until my mum is in top shape, the world can stay at the back of the queue, as far as I'm concerned.

I think I only had to wait a day for my blood work and CT scan to come back. Hopefully you have good news soon!

Just a small update.

My dads blood work looks good, and his appetite has improved as well.
Just waiting to hear word on what the next CET scan shows.

I'm still waiting on test results. My mother is shitting herself today - and I don't blame her.

Thank you all for the continuing well-wishing.

So a bit of an update.

My dad got his latest CT scan results back today while he was in for chemo, and they actually can't even see the large tumor in his left lung, and the smaller tumors are continuing to shrink.

A bit of a small miracle for my family, and fingers crossed, prayers, thoughts, whatever that it holds up.

Great to hear. Here's wishing a full recovery for your father.

Also, I'm sure someone said this many times already, but when your dad gets better you might want to consider checking up on yourself about the genetic problem running along.

Sorry if you get offended, I'm terrible with words, but I genuinely feel happy for your kin being better than he was expected to be.

Not offended at all Dandy, it's definitely genetic. My grandfather, his brother, my dads brother, and my dad all got lung cancer in their 50's. I'll definitely be keeping up with my health and check ups. Thanks buddy.

And thank you to all you guys for your prayers and well wishes. It means a lot!

Yo brother..
Been a while. To be honest this caught me attention first and I knew it would be bad. But reading through everything makes me feel for what you are going through and you know damn well my prayers are with you and your family!
I don't know why but this place has been on my mind recently and you bet that hairy ass off yours that I still remember our talks!
But I digress.. was relieved to find that things are looking up and you let your dad know that he got prayers coming from around the world!

He certainly feels blessed my good man.

They've got him on maintenance chemo to keep everything in check and he is still recovering but at the moment the lymphatic seem to be about the same. At this rate he could very well live between 5 to 10 years, but over the summer he's supposed to be getting on a immunotherapy program to stimulate his own antibodies to attack the cancer.

Definitely looking forward to that. He's something else, and he's a man I aspire to be more like in so many ways.

I'm glad you're back BTW.
