I chose the Hard version of the fight. And yes, I unequipped my weapons.

I kicked Dava's ass on Book 3, Super Hard mode. :D

EDIT: I finished all Books on Super Hard mode. Hurrah!

Something popped up on my feed about an Ecco movie... :( Of my internet haunts only this forum would understand my disappointment when it turned out to be about a spy and not a dolphin.

I never played this game back in the 1990s, but I'm finally giving Shining in the Darkness a go.

You can feel the love these Japanese game developers have for America's Wizardry while playing this game.

The closest thing I played to Wizardry back in the late 80s (when the Wizardry series was born) was probably Monster Maze, lol.

SITD is very different to SF1 & 2. I never really got it myself, even back in the day I found the gameplay a bit dated.

I only got to SitD after emulation started being pretty good on the PC (so, circa 1999-2000?), as I had been unable to find a copy of it anywhere (nothing like eBay was around or popular back then - I also didn't have any way of paying for things online anyway). Nevertheless, I've loved playing it ever since.

Not quite sure why people would think the Gameplay was dated; but that's probably because the only dungeon crawlers I've played are SitD and StHA, so they can't really get dated for me.

Anyway, the SFC Shining Podcast is finally up and a go - go give it a listen!

Ok, I finished the game.

The ending was short. I guess it was down to the memory constraints of the mega drive cartridge,

I think Mephisto caused all that havoc because of how lonely he was. He also seemed to have some kind of fixation with the protagonist of the story. Although he was just as wicked as his mother and father, his ambitions seem kind of different to Darksol's.

The gane was definitely ahead of its time. It's a shame that I never had the chance to play it as a kid.

I just didn't like the grinding, turn based battles, repetition and frustrating difficulty. It just wasn't for me. I think SITD is a bit of a love/hate type of game.

Did anyone see the new Tarantino film? The fight with Bruce Lee is hilarious.

The only thing I got from this entire BMD is that Cyric needs to get fingered. :D
