What is the best character type?

Postby Taurnil » Fri Apr 15 2005 12:45am

I think it's a tie between brawler and ninja. Brawler has the most attack. Ninja has the best speed. Brawler has the best skills but has low defense. The ninja also has a great attack but lacks a little in defense.

I have a great fascination for the darkness, and like to attack from a distance, and like magic... So I choose the Dark Wizard.

I voted for the ninja. I like the speed and I find the attacks, with the right weapon, more than make up for a little lack of defense.

Brawler. His claws and knives shred through the enemies so fast, it's not even funny... There's a female Dark Wizard? I hope you're not referring to Armand.

If you have full critical and know the secret of Backstab, you'll be doing nothing but 999s. Ninja is indeed a very good character to work with.

Exactly what I said. He probably means Armand. Looking at the sprites it makes sense.

But the official artwork...

Gillespie

Armand

I don't think Gillespie's female. Though that said, I don't think there's anything in the game that says one way or the other (except "he" or "she" comments in reference that I've forgotten :p ).

to go back on topic, I vote for Priestess. Rocking attack ability with Flails, great self-sustainability with healing and support magic, and can wield a lot of equipment from both the "magic user" and "fighter" types. Only real downside is she may wind up taking more damage than most other classes would, and she doesn't really have a long-range attack (though her Flail skill can be used to "rush into" an enemy)

Neither one is female... dunno what's going on here.

Even if the preistess takes more damage, just use some of those spells, and she'll become an invincible brick wall who deals out major damage. If you use her right, you'll never die, or have to return to Klantol until you reach the dungeon's end.

I foudn the priestess the hardest to level up in all honesty, cause I never found a decent stat to put points in as she does need them all, also the flail took ages to attack.

hence the Sorceress for me as Inferno, Blaze and Freeze are the only spells I have ever needed

plus you only need to pump her points into INT and VIT erally. okay her strength should be put to 50ish, but its not essential

I voted for Dragnutes because they are very powerful and have a really good defense. Also they have a fire breath counter that when lvled up becomes very powerful and happens frequently.

Not necessarily. For the most part my points go into Flail, Heal and Meditate, with time now and again spent on Resist (though that's not really needed until Advance Mode); handy as the other spells can be, I never find myself using them. Rods are a waste of time.

Frankly, I find that "not knowing where to put the stat points" is a problem for all characters - and even then only really when you start using them as you're getting to grips with which of their special abilities suits your playing style best.

Well, if you find that the Priestess needs all stat, then give her all stats then! 1 for all at each level up, and then once you find you don't need the help of one stat as much, take that point and put it where its needed.

Meh, i made a fairly big guide to the Priestess. I just need somewhre to put it =/

Well, i haven't bothered submitting it there yet. I suppose i could, but i'd have to re-arrange and move a whole bunch of stuff around.

And i'm guessing it would be a bit big to post here as well... its about a good 5,000 words >_>
