Shining Force 3 Emulation Help

Postby Lexian » Tue Jun 13 2017 11:52pm

Hello I currently have a 64-bit Windows 10 OS with a quad core 1.6Ghz processor (so i can't run Mednafen)
I've recently attempted to run my Bin/Cue file of Shining Force 3 through the SSF beta R4 emulator, only to receive the "Disc unsuitable message" after launching the game. I've tried all of the different Bios files to no avail (and yes the bin was/is mounted correctly to the virtual drive, I am using WinIso to mount.) After much research it appears that this issue is common among Win 10 users and I haven't been able to find a solution. Given my specs what Emulator and Version (if any at all) would allow me to play Shining Force 3?

Virtual Clone Drive is now available on the FTP.

I would also suggest using one of the SSF versions on the FTP. SSF 012 R4 has issues with SF3 (012 R2 works great).

If all that fails, i would suggest that your bin/cue files may not have been ripped correctly.

Let me know if you still need help with this. I don't believe it is an issue with your system or your settings, I think it is a problem with your .bin (as Chinagonuk mentioned). I don't think it is a bad rip, but some of the header information has been deleted and needs to be replaced via hexediting. This can be done quickly and easily. So if you still have this problem let me know!
