You don't say, but I'm guessing you're playing on a real Saturn. This sounds like hardware freezes due to either temperature or laser issues. Can you reproduce a freeze at the same spot every time?

There could be something to this, but it's hard to tell without more info.

Legalize Freedom, I played Scenario 1 on the SSF emulator, using a virtual disk I created from my Japanese CD. I do own a Japanese Saturn (and an American Saturn, though it is broken), but the cartridge memory did not work on my game deck, which is why I switched to Daemon Tools Pro on my PC. My PC is an older one, but was powerful enough to upgrade the OS from XP to Win7, though my technician used the 32-bit Win7 version. Although I had used your English script patch on the virtual disk, I was playing it in Japanese using the more recent of the two Japanese BIOS.
WARNING: SPOILER!
I was playing at insane difficulty via Boneidol's hex editor and did finish Scenario One successfully, regardless.

I would assume it is caused by the less-than-modern PC. In SSF, go to the EZ settings tab and shoot for the low end of those settings ("fast" being the low end).

That is a good point. The version on the FTP is the one that works the best for SF3 in my experience.
