Unfortunately all I have is this shitty laptop to work with at the moment.

I'm likely buying a new Mac over my weekend (Sunday-Monday), but until then this piece of shit can't handle anything.

zexxar was guessing around Saturday to finish his portion. I'll see how things look for you next week. If you're still unable to play, let us know in the topic.

That laptop better not be a product from HP Chaos Wizard. Go for Lenovo cause HP is the LJN (A crappy video game company) of Personal Computers. Period. I'm using my Lenovo Flex 3 Laptop and not only can I play my old games, but run a video on Youtube and do my homework online. All at the same time.

I opted for a new MSI gaming laptop. Seriously Phill, you can get so much more for so much less money than an Apple. Besides, we won't like it when you're brainwashed into being a douchey Apple fanboy with a superiority complex.

Business laptops from Lenovo are usually super hardy, particularly some of the slightly older models. Dropped a couple hundred bucks on a t430 and haven't regrets. Maybe the black rectangle look isn't super fancy but I like how unassuming and unpretentious it is.

I used to service laptops, during my previous job. Lenovo laptops are by far the easiest to work with if anything goes wrong, and physically, it's pretty hard to get sturdier shit.

Of course if you just hate windows and don't feel like learn some linix, then Apple's the way to go but I've never been a fan.

Don't let Swalchy hear all of this Lenovo love. For some reason, he's not a fan. I was the service tech for 450 Lenovo laptops and they are indeed pretty awesome.

Day 15(??) : My eyes hurt as they adjust to the light outside. I've spent over 14 hours each day staring at some type of screen. I haven't played games this fervently in at least six years.

At least no one in this board is using Hp. Seriously their Computers and Laptops in general blow and their customer support is awful. Sure you may not like Lenovo there Swalchy, but have you ever experienced using any computer from Hp?

Yes, our laptops prior to our current Lenovo's were HP. They sucked too.

Plus as a computer technician for the past 10+ years, I've had to fix my fair share of laptops in my time. Found Samsung or Asus laptops as the most reliable, and best performance-per-price ratio.

If S*ny dropped about 10% off all their laptop prices at launch, I'd rate them higher.

HP is worse than Lenovo.

HP really doesn't make anything worth buying.

This. I've always gotten many years out of their all-in-one printers.

How often do you use your HP all-in-one? I myself have an HP all-in-one that I think is about 8 years old now, but I hardly use it. There's a reason it still works.

I also have a HP LaserJet 6P which an old computer client gave me - still working 21 years later (bought 1996). But again, hardly use it.

Wouldn't buy anything from HP now though. Maybe I should emphasis that HP don't make anything worth buying now :p

Eh, I use it more for scanning than printing nowadays. But back when I -did- do a lot of printing my last one still lasted a while.

Honestly the only reason why I'm venting out my frustration for Hp is because my family has an Hp Personal Computer for 4 years. It's too slow, it's too laggy, and makes my personal PC from e-machines filled with viruses run like a masterpiece (which I'm still currently using to type this reply). I'm surprised that my family PC is still functional when most Hp PCs don't last for that long.

I don't know, I feel like PCs (regardless of the brand) can last forever. As long as you never move a computer and only use it for basic shit, it will keep on chugging, regardless of the brand.

Sure, at some point it won't run anything at an acceptable speed, but it you never move it an inch you can avoid most hardware faults.
