Nick: Related to Max (SF1) or Completely Original?

Also incorporating Shining Force Gaiden 1 & Shining Force Gaiden 2 (aka Sword of Hajya).

Nick: Related to Max (SF1) or Completely Original?

Postby ZethaPonderer » Sun Feb 19 2017 7:44am

I just feel that SFCD's story is pretty lackluster when being compared to the later installments that fill the many plotholes of the storyline. But, there is one thing that puzzled me and that is Prince Nick.

As much as I like Nick, I do have to wonder if he is an original hero or is he related to Max from SF1? Did Cypress existed before SF1 and SiTD or is it completely new (my mind is foggy on this one)? Similar to the main character Ian (SF: Final Conflict) who was Max's nephew while Bowie (SF2) is the son of Ian. I just don't get Nick and tbh this just makes him a really mysterious character if you ask me.

Yes, Cypress did exist before SITD... because SITD actually happens long after SF1, all three Gaidens, SF2 and SW.

Nick himself, as far as I recall, is unrelated to any of SF1's characters. That connection is provided by Wendy, Apis, Ruce, Shade and Sig (being relatives/offpsring of Tao, Ken, Luke, Hans and Gong respectively).

Thanks for clearing it up. It's official. Nick is mysterious and original. My favorite Hero in the entire SF series.
