how many debug modes in sf2

Postby xkseraph » Mon Apr 30 2012 6:08pm

as we all know there are 2 modes in sf2

1.i call it config mode(memory address:B0AD=FF)
when SEGA logo appears fast press
"up、down、up、down、left、right、left、right、up、right、down、left、up、B"
before the SEGA logo disappear.If entered correctly a sound effect will play.then press start and c to enter game.u can choose Special Turbo,Control Opponent,Auto Battle,Game Completed.

2.i call it debug mode(memory address:B0A8=FF)
when SEGA logo appears fast press
up、up、down、up、B、C、right、left、up、up、down、up、B、C、right、left
before the SEGA logo disappear.If entered correctly a sound effect will play.then press up will go into battle select (0-49). or press down will go into quest select.

but from this link:http://sf2.shiningforcecentral.com/pages/secrets_codes.html

i still cannot find how to go into the "first code" which the article mentioned to change Battle Options like 0=attack any character,2=Use any item on any character in both mode above.

can u pls tell me does there third mode exist?

It does, but I can barely remember how to activate it. Try to hold Start on controller 2 before confirming a target in battle and it might just work. It's one of the many features that are included in the debug mode so don't forget to input that at the sega logo before you try anything else.

If Start doesn't work, try other buttons on any controller. I'm pretty sure this is triggered after you confirm an action like attack or spell. One of two things, there's a way to control how the attack will turn out (dodges, counters, double attacks/spells) with yes/no questions or there's that numbered console you're looking for.

thanks u very much for the answer

yea i successfully tried in debug mode when i press P1 start to attack enemy i can choose (0-6) as the article said
0=attack any character
1=Cast any spell on any character
2=Use any item on any character
3=shows images of surrounding enemies (this one is self-explanitory)
4=make characters explode: It makes the character explode and injures characters surrounding the target
5=special message (self-explanitory)
6=Prism Laser: Affects movement. For an example you could walk on anything or you wouldn't be able to move.

but for my poor english

i still dont understand and contorl how to

Control the evade, heavy attack, double attack, and counter attack

the article said it only happened 40% by chance to get a dialog to choose?

thanks

Yeah, the other code is done by holding Start on controller 2, I tried it just now. And you can even combine both features if you hold Start on controller 2 before you're done confirming your choices in the debug console.
