Hey guys, I was just looking through the hacks and noticed that ShiningForceHero's hack, and BNC's hardmode both have broken links in their respective threads. If anyone has the patches, or can share them on Google Drive/Docs, or PM me about it that would be awesome, thanks!

Edit: RagnarokkerAJ's Hack is LD as well, I'll go through them all and edit in more as I see them.

Ragnarokker's Hack: https://www.box.com/s/3r8w0vtmj2f6pxf4lofu
Shining Force Hero's Hack: https://www.box.com/s/63xc3qxygouqj2xvucj5
BNC's Hard Type Hack (I think): https://www.box.com/s/vfrn7rm2qe0dprgvj08s

Ragnarokker's hack only made it to the Galam battle and never finished Zeon. Beware the first couple of battles as they are nigh impossible. It gets much easier as the game progresses, however. Hacking in Egress might not be a bad idea to start. Or weapons.

I have BNC's Hard Type Hack but I'm not sure if I have the original patch for it or not. If the one I linked isn't it I can make a new one.

Awesome, thanks Hedge. I started playing the SF Tactics hack and for some reason it wouldn't select any of the characters in the Gizmo battle, both Kega and Gens+ would just freeze up, with the music still going. So i started a Challenge mode hack instead, and holy crap it's already giving me a run for my money >_<

None change storyline, and the only one that changes characters is Nightshades Battle Royale hack, which is well worth a playthrough.

Anyone tried customising their own game with the caravan? I've added several more enemies for each battle, however now for some reason, every time I get into an encounter, there is no background graphics, it's just a black screen. Anyone else encountered, or even better, solved this problem?

I'd need a copy of the rom, and which battles were editted in order to deduce what's wrong.

Thanks Stor. Is it possible to upload the rom on here?

It's basically every battle. I've added more enemies for each one. It seems as if the battle backgrounds have mixed up. Sometimes the background will be the correct one, sometimes a force member wil be fighting in some woods, yet the battle background will be that of a battle on a beach or an ancient ruin, and sometimes the screen will be totally black. I think what might have happened is the rom may have become 'stretched', and the coding for the battles become mixed up as a result

Technically a copy of the game, hacked or not, cannot be uploaded. You'll have to e-mail it to Stor :)

Have you edited graphics at all? Hirsute had a similar sounding problem to this.

I couldn't fix it for him back then, so if it's the same thing, I won't be able to do anything.

Thanks MXC.

Cheers Stor. No, No graphic editing done. I've used sf2edit to edit some spells, change item stats and names, change character names and stats, boost enemy stats, and I've used the caravan just for editing dialogue and increasing enemy numbers within each battle. It's a risky program the Caravan, awesome editor but there are quite a few bugs within it. It's not a program that badly breaks my game anyway, I can still enjoy it, funky battle backgrounds or no. The title screen is messed up as well, looks like egyptian hieroglyphics.

Just out of interest, later in my game I've added the amount of enemies in battle to the extent that there will be 30-40 of them. I read somewhere that the game cannot exceed the 32 character limit during battles (including npc's and party). Will this break my game when I come to it? If so, I'll start re-doing that asap.

Thanks for help guys

The background glitch and title screen hieroglyphics sounds like what happened in the "SF 2.3" hack that someone did a while back (I'm guessing Hirsute based on Stor's response?).

I know what happened there (because I looked into it) was basically that he eneded up moving some graphics down without changing the associated pointers which caused the aforementioned problems. I don't know if this happened to that hack because the author used Caravan or not; but I know what state my ROM was in after applying the patch file.

Possible that you are having the same issue. If you are, the only real way to fix it is to find the pointers and update them manually.

I think the mistake Hirsute made was to make a ton of edits all in one go.

You really can't do that with the Caravan. Definitely need to take things piecemeal, a few little changes at a time, save and test.

Now that my daughter is in daycare, and I'm not pulling a "double shift" taking care of her and working all day... I'll actually have time to pickup SF2Edit.Net again (made some tweaks this weekend in fact to get it more beta ready)...

I'll see if BNC is still interested in updating it with Caravan-like functionality. I'd emailed him a few times the past year and he never responded though, so we'll see!

Did anyone ever find how to adjust/ add new stat growths like nightshade did?

For the CP, we need growths that have characters promoting at level 10 and finishing at level 25. Like other games, it would be possible to exceed 10 and 25 but curves should be based on those.
