Shining Force: Resurrection of the Dark Dragon: Jogurt is not useless.
He's actually a pretty awesome niche character.

Re: Jogurt is not useless.
I suppose it is true. he isn't inherently useless.
He's good for soaking precisely one attack/spell that would otherwise have been aimed at someone much more valuable.
However, when we then compare this utility with... let's say Diane, the next worst character in the game... she at least has utility to deal some modicum of damage outside of being a one-hit-wonder.

And possibly, taking more than one hit depending on the attacker.

The Yogurt Ring is kinda funny, especially when Max wears it and walks around town as Jogurt.

Just be sure to remove the helmet first, otherwise that may instead be indigestion.Corsair wrote:Jogurt improves digestion, and is also pretty tasty!

Anything interesting to do with Jugurtha rings? Should be something for how much work they take to get...

I don't know. Usually the most useless items in games are also the hardest to obtain or find.Bombadier wrote:Anything interesting to do with Jugurtha rings? Should be something for how much work they take to get...

I'm gonna try to get 2 on this next run through, something about Mawlock and Max both being in the costume sounds too perfect. Especially on the 25th run through.

Re: Jogurt is not useless.
Can you get two in the GBA version? I know I tried once in the original, and it didn't work. Once one had been obtained, killing more enemies with Jogurt didn't give a reward.

It's been awhile since I tried, and I forgot until a bit after I posted that Mawlock can't wear rings, so one it is.

Re: Jogurt is not useless.
Yeah, I guess that would be a problem. I certainly wouldn't know. I only played through RotDD once and hated its new leveling and magic-learning mechanics. I promoted at 10 as always, so my wizards ended up worthless and my fighters were so overleveled from the EXP being as if they were back at level 1 that the entire game was even more of a breeze than usual. I did use all three new characters on my party though just to try them out.
When I heard there were additional difficulties though, I did consider revisiting it until I heard about the enemy HP glitch (or whatever it's actually called, can't remember) which completely ruined the concept for me.

Re: Jogurt is not useless.
The game does get progressively more difficult, to the point where beating some fights takes a lot of preparation/grinding, which I personally love in RPG's.
And the HP glitch is interesting, it's officially taken effect on Dark Dragon, Darksol, and recently Ramladu has fallen to it's ways. It's based on when any enemy reaches 500+HP, the game fails to read it properly (only if you save during said battle) and it registers the enemy as having 0/??HP and then they just... Die. Which saves me, and a couple other high star runners, a lot of time. Those fights would take a loooooooooong time if it wasn't for that glitch.
An example would Be Dark Dragon: 99 Defense with easily over 1,000HP and 100% Magic Resistance? Even with Mawlock giving extra turns to a few archers, that would take... A stupid long time.
But yea, I'll grab a ring from everyone’s favorite gopher on my next pass through, i wonder what enemy would be easiest to get to 1HP for him at this point...
I'll try to make Elliot fall to Jogurt!

Re: Jogurt is not useless.
Naturally though, the problem is that when they have that much HP, you're going to need to save during the battle to do it in multiple shifts.
