Bless you Rose, that's a sweet thing to say :)

I'm still hunting for extra copies for other peeps here, and am going to another local town tomorrow to have a look around for it! Don't know how I'll be able to decide who gets any others - will have to do some kind of random draw/lotto for it!

I'd like to start running contests again, once the site is rebuilt. We'll see how that goes - best laid plans, and all that!

You know Moogie. If you manage to get your hands on a copy you can spare that would make an amazing first prize for the return of the contests. I'm sure everyone would agree.

I got on the site first thing in the morning on the 2nd. They're shipping a copy all the way to the states. I guess I got 1 of the 2 available via that route (it was the same place that Ashley linked to).

No luck in Dorchester :( Only found 3 copies of the mag, none the right one.
Tried Waitrose, Tesco, WHSmith, Martins and Somerfield. Also just tried a local shop I'd forgotten had magazines, and another Co-op last night. Nada.

Rich had an errand to run in Chickerell last night, so popped into the post office there - they did have gamesTM, but only 2 issues and neither was SFIII :(

On my lap sits issue 100 of gamesTM, cover number 50.

The lovely man at Midlife Gamer (midlifegamer.co.uk) has sent me his copy, which apparently was otherwise going in the recycle bin.

I dread to think how many might end up that way.

Unfortunately no time to peruse it right now as I've just taken delivery of some lures for the bass comp I'm in tomorrow, and they've sent the wrong bloody ones. So, off to the tackle shop for an emergency last minute lure hunt. Crap!

Definite yay!! Do you have anything like Craigs List in the UK? Perhaps if you post an ad in there asking people to send you their copies when they're done with them they might just do that. Worth a shot anyway I'd think. ;)

Have you spotted the rather substantial error on the cover yet, Moogie? I only just saw it this morning and it's really bloody annoyed me. I can only apologise to those of you who've spent so much time trying to track a copy down...

Any chance they could print a few more with the corrected cover? >.>

I would pay double the price of the mag just to get it.

It'll become a fine collectors item.

It's rather dumb considering that the collage is boring... they didn't blend it together at all or anything. Plus, most people only played Scenario 1. The high-res cover would have been killer (and I don't even like the game!)

I can't release the high-res art since it was given to us under trust and only after Sega put in some serious work to convince Camelot to share it. Really sorry about that.

What I can do is put up a wallpaper that I made during production. It's a mock-up of a cover that I wanted us to run, basically using the cut-outs to create a crowded "group shot" of the characters. It's a bit rough around the edges and I was hoping our design team could use it as inspiration while making a proper image for the cover but they just didn't have time. The mock-up survives as my desktop wallpaper and I'll make a point of uploading it here in the morning if only so you can see what might have been.

Aside from that, let's just look on the bright side eh? This is still the only time Shining Force has been on a UK magazine cover and will surely help raise awareness about the series - especially with Sega themselves. I'm hoping they get the message that a) We want to see more Shining games released in the UK and b) we want more Camelot/Shining Force III stuff in particular. Believe me, Sega has taken more notice of our 100 covers than any other publisher in the world. :)

Fair enough - having worked with supplier artwork and the regulations many of them put on its usage I suspected that would be the case, but had to ask in the small hope that you could. ;)

Funnily enough, back around the turn of the century when I started getting into SHF3 and SFC I put together something that's probably along the lines of what you've done/had in mind: http://kyantol.com/personal/img/shf3-cast.jpg :) If memory serves I made it from GIF cutouts I pulled from a website (sadly I forget whose).

And if Sega are taking as much note as you're suggesting, here's hoping it affects them in the right way - enough of this "new" stuff they're shipping out, the people want classic Shining Force games! :D

Yes, I'm afraid I did spot it. But, it's still a cool cover & I'm still glad to have it!
Will have a good read of the mag on Monday as it's bass comp today-Sunday, but I have Monday off to recover (and catch up on all the TV we have to record durint the comp!)

Here's the mock-up I did. Quite nice, if I do say so myself.
