After a long winter (summer for most of you guys), I resumed playing the 6-men army today.
Didn't go quite well.

Battle 6 started with Anri replacing Tao, which meant less MP and no level 2 spell.
Gort positioned himself the shield the party as usual, and everything was fine at first. The zombies went down easily. Then the force got to the bridge, where they managed to defeat the enemies standing there and the advancing bats.
The next pack of enemies got hidden by the estalagmites. Max and Hans decided to take them from behind while the rest of the force would come to a frontal assault.
This tactics went terrible! The enemy mage got aware of that and slipped to blaze the swordsman, while the zombies advanced to Anri, defeating her. The other members tried to react, but couldn't fell any opponent before the Mage got another turn. Another fire spell ended up the battle by taking my leader down.

Quick visit to the priest and the 6-men-and-women wnet down again to the cave of no light.
This time they did the same good job against the front zombies, but when getting close to the bridge, a bad positioning let the mage to advance behind bats and zombie to cast blaze on Max. Not again! The rswt of the party tried to retaliate. No effect. For the second battle in a row, the mage got a second turn before the swordsman could have his. And for the second time in a row this ended the battle. This time, before even getting to the bridge.

I'll take another shot later.
Hope the third one will be a lucky one.

Third one wasn't a lucky one either.
Khris got killed by the mage and archer from the bridge.
After that, the party lost his will the fight and eventually got defeated by some more blazes.

The forth try went fine though.

After many failures, Max and his quintet knew well what to expect from the dark cave.
Once again Gort took the lead by shielding and smashing the initial zombies. The bridge went quite fine, as Ken and Gort attracted the mage to actualy cross it.

Some healings performed and the force came down to the stalagmites. This time, Gort blocked the zombies and Ken advanced anticlockwise to get the mage. One of the zombies managed to break free and attack Max, but that proved good for them, as Anri and Hans could help the leader to finish the creature.

Three enemies left. A couple of creepy mages and a dreadful skeleton. The party advanced cautiosly, as Ken rushed south to discover a ring of power inside a chest. The ring was given to Gort, who became even more fearsome. He entered the enemies chambers all alone to break down a mage with a single blow. Ken and Khris followed him to take down the other.

The trio could see an ancient ornamented chest in the back of the room. The Orb of Light should be there! But it was still guarded by a monster of bones. His eyes glowing in the dark. Eyes that had seen no light and known no defeat for centuries. The skeleton suddenly left his post to ram the dwarf with all his might! But then he realized he was facing his last moments. The old dwarf took the hit as if it was just another one. Then he turned to the undead with fury and bashed his axe against the gathering bones to break many of them.

The creature of darkness gasped. What could he do? Nothing at all. From the back of the dwarf came a beautiful princess, staff in hand, to light up the whole place. Fire! The skeleton eyes couldn't stand it. His bones couldn't stand it either. The flames engulfed him, slowly reducing him to ashes. A terrible whistle could be heard as his spirit got free. Then, he was no more.

After a brief moment of silence, Max steped ahead to open the sacred urn, what made all of them to cover the eyes. The Orb of Light was there indeed.

Going after a missing kid, the force went inside a circus tent, where they would turn to fight some nasty dolls from Mishaela, the master of puppets.

The battle went quite smoothly, with the 6 making shortcake of the dolls and ensuring there would be plenty of firewood for the winter.

The pleasant visit to the circus found an early end when the marionette came across the ring to freeze the party. Gort and Anri went down at once. The force tried to retaliate, but the freaking doll just swung and dodged like hell. Even when someone managed to hit it, the thing went on to slap another victim. Khris were next to fall.

It was now Max, Ken and Hans against the big doll. Hans handed over the ring of power to Ken, who hoped to finish the fight with a couple of blows. The marionette took the first one and slaped back the centaur's face. Max came to heal the knight, while Hans tried another shot, though his arrows were harmless to the thing.

Ken had the chance to end the fight, but the doll dodged one more time. Then the creature rose again and another icestorm fell over the centaur and the swordsman, leaving both of them in the verge of defeat.

As the marionette seemed more and more threatening, Max had to call a different plan. He pulled back to heal himself, out of the beast's range. As Ken had another chance to win it for good, Max realized he couldn't depend on this single chance. He ordered Ken to hand back the ring to the archer and act as a decoy. The archer on his turn pulled back to feed the power ring to the leader, as the doll hit Ken to the ground.

It was two against one now. But Max were healed and should have at least to chances to win it for them. He put the ring on his finger and advanced to the doll. As the sword went down, the thing evaded once again. It slaped Max before getting plucked with another weak arrow.

Max turn. Probably the last one whether he hit the thing or not. He pressed the handle of his sword and hit it firmly against the marionette. The doll of hell could fight no longer.

I resumed playing it lately, but can't seem to find the will to write.
I'll make a short text then.

Battle 8 started hard, as the ghoul came after Max leaving him isolated. The rest of the force found a nice formation of the northeastern side of the church, with Gort and Ken blocking the attacks, Khris healing and Anri burning undead to hell! Once the ghoul was defeated, Max could rejoin the group and they made shortcake of the enemies.

For battle 9, Balbaroy, Amon and Diane all were a threat to Hans' spot. After a long thinking, it was the elven girl who filled in.
The battle went on without much trouble, with Gort being both the main defender and attacker. Diane did a nice job, and gained a couple of levels.
