So, the UK votes on whether to stay in or leave the European Union tomorrow.

What do the non-European members on here think of this, if it's even been reported where you are?

I've seen a little about it but haven't looked too much into it. I think they'll stay in for the best interests of everyone else. What I mean is that there is more value in keeping the EU happy than by breaking away from "being held back by the EU" economically.

Alls I know is that...something that's bothered me since time immemorial...

(okay, so like 2003 when I started posting on forums in earnest)

People who don't post outside of threads they themselves have created. It hasn't really happened here recently, but I can think of a couple users who annoyed the piss out of me with not only that habit but also just being obnoxious shits in general.

And while I realize I haven't been here as long as some, It's been 8 years since I joined and that makes me feel pretty old.

It's f*cking stupid, and only stupid people would want to leave.

Seriously, whether the UK is in or not, you guys have to deal with the EU, right? So you'd have to abide all of the same trade policies and standards and shit anyway. f*cking yourselves up just to make some hollow assertion of independence is moronic. I just don't imagine the UK as being a country where an MP is murdered, and the reactionaries stoking those flames get rewarded at the polls. That's just too indecorous.

And didn't Scotland do the same thing, like, yesterday?

I agree, but there is one advantage. It means a few idiots are self-contained.

Yeah they report on it in the States, just not as much as Caitlin Jenner's commentary on women's issues, or whether or whatever Kanye is doing. You know, Important shit.

In any case, as with Scotland I can't see any real pros from splitting with the EU, but I definitely can see a good number of cons.

Well I voted in. Hope enough of my English brethren did the same.

Plus yes, we have to deal with the EU regardless of in or out. Those politicians who want 'out' don't appear to have a single f*cking plan to initiate if we end up being out.

Though I'm pretty convinced that the 'IN' vote will be the one that prevails today. Unless the UK wants to prove that we're not as smart as the world seems to think we are.

For you Americans, please don't prove the rest of the world right by voting Trump in as President. Then it will be confirmed that your nation is majorly full of idiots

#VOTEOUT

Kidding, I'm not an idiot :P I voted rather late (9pm), but am pleased to say it was to remain.

Shit, I'm just looking at the results so far. OUT IS IN THE LEAD?!?! f*cking sort it out people! I'm sure London will smash it for remain!

The pound sterling has just dropped from £1 = $1.50 down to £1 = $1.46, in a matter of about 1-2 hours!

Thankfully remain is currently in the lead. Sunderland swung it massively for out, and Newcastle didn't really swing it enough as expected for remain. Swindon was closer (55% out, 45% in), which was better for remain than anticipated.

Whatever the end result, it's gonna be f*cking close.

Leave were winning, then within about 5 declared counties, remain jumped to being in the lead by 63,000+ votes. Remain had been losing to leave by almost 200k!

So currently quite pleased at that turn around. Just hope it continues!

For the record, I'd suggest that any foreigners not take a trip to the North-East of England any time soon.

Lambeth and Wandsworth (2 out of the 32 boroughs of London, for those that don't know) alone practically destroyed and reversed the 'leave' lead with their outcome

So very close, and we've had 114 out of 382 sections declared, which is around 30% of the country.

Leave currently (3am BST) leading by 25k.
