if a SF is animated...

If Shining Force 1, 2, 3, or Gaiden is animated in the future, how would the Class Promotion scene be? Instantly? In the Church?

I think like a holy light coming in the sky and changing your clothes in a henshin japanese style.

I always saw it as "here's some better gear for your team, but you'll need to get used to them first." (hence the slight stat decrease).

Granted promoting happens instantaneously in the games, I've always seen it as more of a representation of the characters growing and maturing as they go, rather than a straight-up class change like the games portray it. Therefore, if it were a cartoon or something, I would imagine the characters growing as the story progresses, and gradually transitioning from their original selves, to their promoted forms. In the case of Bowie for example (using him because while he starts as a boy, I've always felt like he's grown into a man by the end), perhaps on the long journey, he starts to outgrow his initial outfit at some point, and needs new clothes to replace the raggedy garments.

To me, it's like someone playing sports. You start off not knowing your niche, so you're playing (perhaps even well), but you just don't know your groove. Promotion is a specialization. Where that person figures out their groove, has the experience, and can finally play to suit it. Considering everything revolves around churches in that game...it's not entirely impossible that it's a...hey, I prayed to you because I believe I found out what you want me to be...now I'm gonna go be it.
